P & L Simulation Software "What If ..." is a Lumber Manufacturing (Sawmill) software product designed to predict the Profit & Loss effect of planned mechanical systems or operational changes before money and time are actually spent. This program evaluates the new changes by comparing results with your present (Base Year) data. How it works: When you load the program all of the "value boxes" (Shown Below) will show values that match your existing "Base Year" data. The P&L section will also closely match your current values. This is possible because you edited the three "Base Year" data pages to match your company's information. A hypothetical company, called Rowley Lumber Co., is installed for initial training or orientation purposes. This learning program has it's own hypothetical Base Year data already entered. There are six sections to the display as shown below.
When using the loaded program, click on the ? button, then move to an input window box, click again and information/instructions will be shown for the selected input. On some inputs a message box appears allowing options to be set. For example when increasing Recovery you can select to have the results subtract from the Log Input rather then increasing Lumber Output.
